Our Programs

Put sustainability to work by connecting with a community of peers focused on action, engaging with cross-sectional leaders in meaningful dialogue about the possibilities of sustainability. Participate in peer-based learning programs that put sustainable business strategies into action, and take your next steps toward bold goals that inspire innovation and action.

Whether you are a CEO, office manager, entrepreneur, facility director or searching for a new business to start, E4S can help you put sustainability to work through a process we call Connect, Learn, Do Sustainability.

E4S Third Tuesday Network Events
Connect and engage in meaningful dialogue with leaders in the rapid growing E4S Network (now over 8,000 strong) to find inspiration, new opportunities, peer support and most importantly connections. Connect with suppliers, customers, resources, partners, and investors.  We created our signature E4S Third Tuesday Network Event in 2000 to attract a community (network) of peers that would support the implementation of sustainability principles.  Now, with nearly 100 of these events under our belt, we continue to attract over one hundred entrepreneurial thinkers and change agents every month to Connect, Learn, Do Sustainability. E4S Sustainability Implementation Groups
Create a sustainability strategic plan with a team from your organization and teams from 7-10 other businesses. The E4S SI Group Program is a peer-based, action-focused, learning process that increases the rate at which your team will learn new technologies and processes and the successful implementation of what you learn. Develop relationships with peers and expert resources that will support you during and after the SI Program. Learn a whole-systems design strategy that will transform your organization, inspire innovation and improve the quality of life in our region.  Learn more about Sustainability Implementation Groups >>

E4S Action Networks: Local Food Cleveland, Zero Waste NEO and Biomimicry NEO
Advance your sustainability strategies and build a sustainable economy by joining one or more E4S Action Networks. As sustainability began to mature and specialize, E4S facilitated the creation of collaborative action networks with our strategic partners. This creation resulted in a place for cross-sectional leaders to work together toward a specific shared vision - local food for 4 million, zero waste and putting biomimicry to work at every design table.  Connect and learn at action network events, workshops and online social network sites. E4S Green City Certification Program
The Green City Certification Program is a locally based certification- powered by E4S.  This program builds internal capacity to put sustainability to work in your organization and results in a strategic sustainability plan with connections to regional resources to support the implementation.  The certification program is based on an E4S Sustainability Implementation (SI) Group Program launched in 2005 with over 50 organizations that have graduated.  Certified companies receive a 2% credit on City of Cleveland bids.

E4S Start-up Roundtables
Connect and learn with a community of entrepreneurs starting up businesses in a sustainable economy - green building, advanced energy, local food, waste to profit, sustainable mobility and more. We created the E4S Start-up Roundtable just for our start-up members. These events are for entrepreneurs that have started a business in the last 4 years in the sustainable economy.  Each month, a featured entrepreneur will share their business case along with opportunities and challenges.  A panel of entrepreneurial experts will help us meet the special challenges of starting up a business including business planning, cash flow management, fund raising, marketing and more.  See all upcoming events >>

E4S Workshops
Learn how to put sustainable practices to work at E4S Workshops. E4S designs workshops with our strategic partners in an effort to meet the demands for more specific knowledge that goes beyond the network events. In 2004, E4S designed an advance energy workshop series with partners at Green Energy Ohio, Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Green Building Coalition. In 2008, we partnered with the Biomimicry Guild to deliver an introductory course on the biomimicry design model. Watch the E4S event page for new workshop opportunities.
